Founded in 1976, Darco Southern specializes in the fabrication of High Temperature Industrial Gasketing Solutions, servicing customers worldwide in the steel, aluminum, petrochemical, shipbuilding, brick, pulp and paper, and boiler industries.
In our modern facility in Independence, Virginia we maintain a large inventory of Tetraglas (Fiberglass) and Tetraglass 3000 (Silica) cloths, tapes, sleeving and ropes. Our products have MSHA BC109 certification for use in underground mines and carry MIL-I-24244, MIL-C-24576, and NCR 1.36 approvals. Our inventory also includes coated and treated fiberglass materials, non-asbestos compressed sheets, PTFE envelopes, joint sealants, and a wide variety of rubber and silicone products.
Compliant with Quality Control standard MIL-I-45208, and with an average workforce experience of over twenty years, Darco Southern customers can be assured of the highest of quality. Our Fabrication Department specializes in custom products, producing as few as one to as many as several hundred thousand, on time and to spec. Our core competencies consist of:
- Teflon and Vulcanization
- Traveling and clicker punch presses
- Coating and impregnation
- Kitting and packaging
- Sewing, slitting, Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) and specialty fastener installations, including hook and loop applications.
Utilizing a CAD driven textile cutter coupled with a digitizer, we are capable of cutting, drilling, and labeling at high rates of speed, providing samples which can be converted into an infinite array of shapes and sizes.
