Darco Southern offers a variety of Premium (Tetraglas®) & Industrial Grade Fiberglass, Silicone-coated Fiberglass (Silco Tape®), Silica (Tetraglas 3000®), Ceramic, and Basalt Tape products. Each provides unique physical characteristics and sealing performance. Common applications for high temperature tapes include compression seals and thermal insulation wraps to contain heat and protect hoses, cables, workers, and surrounding components from heat. Even at elevated temperatures, the Tetraglas®, industrial grade fiberglass, basalt, Tetraglas 3000®, and ceramic tapes are resistant to most acids and alkalis.

Darco Southern’s Tetraglas® tape is woven with high-quality Type E fiberglass yarns. Tetraglas® tape will not burn and is suitable for use in applications with temperatures up to 1000°F (540°C). Tetraglas® Tape is a heavy duty wrap and offered in both plain and drop warp weaves. This tape can be heat treated or coated with vermiculite, PTFE, or graphite. Pressure sensitive adhesive can be added for aid in installation.
Industrial Grade Fiberglass Tape
Industrial Grade Fiberglass Tape is a woven tape that is constructed of high-quality Type E fiberglass yarns. While capable of sustaining continuous operating temperatures up to 1000°F (540°C), this tape option is a lighter weight, more economical option for fiberglass tape. Available in both plain and drop warp weaves and can be heat treated or coated in vermiculite, PTFE, or graphite. Pressure sensitive adhesive can be added for aid in installation.
Constructed using Basalt fiber yarns, this tape is knitted or woven into a heavy duty tape to provide an exceptional combination of enhanced heat resistance, thermal performance and durability. Rated for 1400°F (750°C), basalt tape provides an excellent thermal insulation for exhaust systems and radiant heat protection for the surrounding components. Basalt tape can be coated in vermiculite and pressure sensitive adhesive can be applied for aid in installation.
Tetraglas 3000® Tape
Darco Southern’s Tetraglas 3000® tape is constructed of amorphous silica yarns and available in both plain and drop warp weaves. Tetraglas 3000® tape will not burn and is suitable for use in continuous temperatures to 1800°F (980°C). Pressure sensitive adhesive can be added for aid in installation.
Darco Southern’s Ceramic fiber tape supports the highest continuous operating temperature at 2300°F (1260°C). Ceramic fiber tape possesses excellent chemical stability as well as strong corrosion and thermal shock resistance. Glass or Inconel inserts are added for increased strength and durability. Ceramic fiber tapes are available in both plain and drop warp weaves.
Silco Tape is produced by coating knitted fiberglass tape with a layer of high-grade iron oxide red silicone elastomer. The silicone coating provides enhanced thermal insulating performance, with the additional benefit of protecting the underlying fiberglass tape from oils and other contaminants, as well as molten metal splash. Silco Tape is suitable for applications with continuous temperatures up to 500°F (260°C).
